About The Position

Leidos is actively interviewing for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Springfield, VA. This team member will collect, process, and perform data analysis and deliver data driven solutions to quantitative improve the mission area of Maritime Features. Surface, Publications, Events, Dissemination, Source Assessment, and Metrics. Duties : Collect process data and perform data analysis. Integrate centralized protect and maintain data in DBMS. Clean massage and organized data. Perform ad hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner. Communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner using storytelling/visualization. Create/deploy/maintain cloud applications to support migration of data and production processes Create/deploy/maintain tools to extract features data and meta-data from a variety of sources, including Raster to vector-to-vector text to vector and text database. Write/maintain Python scripts in Arc GIS to improve efficiency of the production process. Support Business Processing Re-engineering. Perform Data Conversion/migration Perform Business Analytics. Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter. We're the tech company everyone calls when things get weird. Requirements

Typically requires a BA degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.
5 - 7 years of demonstrated programming skills with the ability to write/maintain scripts, including Python and JAVA scripts
Knowledge and experience using version control tools such as Git
3-5 years' experience in data science, including the areas of data collection processing exploitation, transformation services, modeling, and analytics.
3-5 years of demonstrated experience performing geospatial data management, including data type conversions coordinate systems in (latitude and longitude, UTM) and their conversions and knowledge of projections and their properties/conversions.
1 - 3 years of experience, using Tableau or equivalent Business Intelligence software and software server functions.

Nice To Haves

Experience in combining, digital cartography, computer, technology, GIS, cartographic and geospatial, production techniques, remote, sensing photography and digital data formats.
Proficient in Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) software such as FME Workbench
Experience performing data analysis to examine data from a variety of angles to determine hidden values, weaknesses, trends, and or opportunities next line knowledge of ESRI, ArcGIS/ArcPro and Arc Server
Experience with ESRI Workflow Manager, WMX and TAM
Knowledge of database systems and architecture
Ability writing SQL and NoSQL
Understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, services (including geospatial specific microservices), and DevOps
Knowledge of symbolization rules.
Familiarity with emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, tools, and methodologies, with an understanding of their applications, implications, and integration into daily geospatial and intelligence workflows.
Experience working with geospatial data in multiuser enterprise environment.
2 years of experience working with data quality control, tools, including ArcGIS data reviewer
Experience with analyzing existing production systems and providing feature recommendations to enhance data science capabilities
