CGI has an immediate need for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

  • Gather and analyze user requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications.
  • Design and maintain quantitative models for mortgage and loan risk, including Monte Carlo simulations and time-series analysis.
  • Collaborate with ETL teams to ensure accurate data loading and transformation.
  • Develop and execute test scripts, troubleshoot data-related issues, and optimize performance.
  • Work with large-scale datasets in cloud environments, leveraging AWS services for data processing and analytics.
  • Communicate complex technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • 7+ years of experience in data science
  • Proficiency in Python (including libraries like NumPy, pandas, SciPy, statsmodels, scikit-learn, QuantLib).
  • Advanced SQL skills for handling large, complex datasets.
  • Strong grasp of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and software engineering practices (Git, unit testing, CI/CD, shell scripting).
  • Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Batch, Glue, EMR, CloudWatch, IAM, EC2).
  • Familiarity with data lakes, NoSQL systems, and tools like Spark, Hive, Airflow.
  • Ability to design and optimize Monte Carlo simulations, time-series models, and risk factor models.
  • Solid understanding of counterparty credit risk, including Potential Future Exposure (PFE) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of interest rate modeling, derivative pricing, and macro risk factor models.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical ETL and database specifications.
  • Experience creating source-to-target mappings and documenting business processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as Mercury Quality Center or HP Quality Center.
  • Professional certifications in data analytics, cloud technologies, or software development.
