About The Position

Direct Supply, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop, deploy and manage Generative Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Operations (AI/ML) solutions that address complex business challenges in Milwaukee, WI. Duties include: Partner with cross functional teams Business Analysts, Engineers, Data Scientists and university researchers to design experiments, build and implement scalable IA solutions; Understand scope, validate requirements, and translate business problems into data science problem statements; Solve business models algorithmically using econometric approaches (zero-sum games, multi-market models, optimization); Create and maintain AI/ML solutions on programming platforms (Spark/Scala, R, Python, Hadoop) and utilize big data/cloud solutions (AWS, Azure); Deploy AI machine vision, natural language processing, and voice solutions in cloud-based production environments as a service on cloud platforms; Use querying languages like SQL to perform data analysis and validate solutions using data structures and external data sets; Build data pipelines and leverage database technologies to troubleshoot, retrain, analyze and update AI/ML implementations (Kafka, Storm, MS SQL Server, Neo4J, HDFS, Redshift, S3 etc.); Build presentations, reporting and visualizations for business consumption using Rmarkdown, shiny server, bokeh, matplotlib, and ggplot; and Leverage open source/off the shelf Generative AI models to create Minimal Viable Products. The minimum requirements for the Senior Data Scientist position are a Masters’ Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computational Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics; or a related degree; and 3 years data-driven consultation experience gained through any combination of Post-Master’s-level assistantship, research or professional experience which must include (and can be gained concurrently): 3 years using programming tools: R, MATLAB, or Python; 3 years using database technologies: SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB or Neo4j; 2 years building or researching AI/ML solutions using ML Engineering frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Flask, or Huggingface, and tools: AWS Sagemaker, Colab, Pandas, Numpy, OpenCV, Scikit-learn, Docker or MLFlow in an AWS or Azure cloud environment; 2 years working with data visualization tools Tableau or Shiny; and 2 years using statistical learning approaches: dimension reduction, sampling, cross validation, support vector machines, or generalized linear models.
