About The Position

The People Technology team leads the implementation of advanced people-focused technology across Walmart, impacting millions worldwide. As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Services, the team delivers innovative solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience. The People.AI team specializes in developing AI and machine learning applications, including intelligent conversational interfaces, to enhance associate productivity. Leveraging expertise in data science, machine learning, and Python programming, the team creates and deploys scalable AI/ML solutions that support Walmart associates globally, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in data science and machine learning, with proficiency in Python programming.
  • Strong knowledge of data source identification, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and data quality assessment.
  • Expertise in analytical modeling, model validation, tuning, and deployment for scalable production environments.
  • Proficiency in advanced data visualization techniques using tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, and Tableau.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior associates in analytics and modeling best practices.
  • Solid understanding of business domains and the ability to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains and databases to support analytical initiatives.
  • Conduct initial data quality assessments to ensure accuracy and reliability of datasets.
  • Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Evaluate model performance through rigorous validation techniques and optimize for scalability and sustainability.
  • Create clear and insightful data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Mentor junior team members on modeling techniques and best practices.
