About the Team: We are looking for a passionate, creative Senior Data Scientist to join the Inkiru Data Science team @Walmart Global Tech from fraud detection and risk management. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will transform complex data into actionable insights, supporting data-driven decision-making and driving business impact across Walmart’s digital and physical channels. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Engineers, Product Managers, and Business professionals at the intersection of analytics, big data, IT infrastructure, and business operations. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role What You’ll Do Partner strategically with product development and business teams, delivering insights and recommendations of fraud trends and patterns through effective data storytelling and visualization. Analyze high-dimensional, fast-moving real-time datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for fraud detection. Build and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key business metrics and share insights with stakeholders. Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and documentation. Research and apply new analytical methods, tools, and techniques to solve complex business problems. Requirements

  • Technical expertise in data analysis, statistical methods, and data visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling and data engineering best practices
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis packages in Python or R.
  • Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing tools (BigQuery, Hive, or Spark).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related field plus three years of related experience or Master’s degree in a STEM or related field plus one year of related experience
  • Technical expertise in data mining, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficient in machine learning and data mining packages in Python.
  • Experience working with large data sets and distributed computing tools (BigQuery, Hive, or Spark).
  • Master degree in any STEM field plus three years of related experience. Or PhD degree in any STEM field with related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Data science, machine learning, optimization models, Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics,

Responsibilities

  • Partner strategically with product development and business teams, delivering insights and recommendations of fraud trends and patterns through effective data storytelling and visualization.
  • Analyze high-dimensional, fast-moving real-time datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for fraud detection.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key business metrics and share insights with stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and documentation.
  • Research and apply new analytical methods, tools, and techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Be a strategic partner to product development teams, sharing insights and providing recommendations through effective communication and storytelling with data.
  • Design, build and implement predictive models with high-dimensional, fast moving real time datasets.
  • Use machine learning, deep learning and data mining techniques to develop robust predictive models for anomaly detection such as E-Commerce return abuse, identity risk assessment, etc.
  • Design, analyze, and run both simulated and live experiments (A/B and multivariate tests) to drive KPI improvements.
  • Build data visualizations and interactive dashboards for monitoring and sharing business insights internally and externally.
  • Interested in researching about new methods, tools and techniques to address complex business problems.
