  • U.S. Citizen with an active DoD, IC, or DHS clearance, or eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
  • Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 8–10 years of professional experience in data science, applied machine learning, or advanced analytics roles.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and modern data science toolchains.
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex data pipelines, enterprise data lakes, and high-volume datasets.
  • Strong grounding in statistics, machine learning theory, and production AI considerations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting AI, ML, or analytics initiatives in medical, biotech, bioscience, or healthcare environments.
  • Familiarity working with HIPAA-regulated data, including PHI handling, de-identification, and compliance-aware analytics workflows.
  • Experience operating in regulated or security-conscious environments such as healthcare, federal, defense, or public sector.
  • Experience with cloud-native data and ML platforms, with Azure preferred.
  • Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks and large-scale analytics systems.
  • Publications, patents, or demonstrated thought leadership in applied data science or machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of advanced statistical and machine learning models.
  • Apply techniques including ensemble learning, time-series modeling, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics.
  • Define evaluation strategies, performance metrics, and validation frameworks aligned to mission outcomes.
  • Ensure model robustness, explainability, and responsible AI practices where required.
  • Architect and optimize data science workflows operating on complex data pipelines and enterprise data lake platforms.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to shape feature engineering strategies, feature pipelines, and scalable analytics architectures.
  • Work across structured, semi-structured, unstructured, and longitudinal datasets at scale.
  • Identify systemic data quality risks and guide remediation across end-to-end data flows.
  • Serve as a senior technical contributor and mentor to mid-level and junior data scientists.
  • Collaborate with ML Engineers and MLOps teams to transition models into monitored, production environments.
  • Engage stakeholders to translate business, clinical, or mission needs into analytical solutions.
  • Contribute to technical standards, documentation, and AI best practices.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive health benefits.
  • 401(k) with company matching.
  • Clearance sponsorship for eligible candidates.
  • Advanced training, conference, and certification support.
  • Opportunity to grow into Principal Data Scientist or AI Technical Leadership roles.
