About The Position

Position Summary... What you'll do... We are seeking a passionate Senior Data Scientist who excels at turning complex business challenges into actionable insights and data-driven prototypes. In this role, you’ll focus on building AI and analytics proof-of-concepts (POCs), developing minimum viable models (MVPs), and translating data into strategies that shape decision-making across the enterprise. You will explore, experiment, and deliver early-stage data science solutions that demonstrate measurable business impact and readiness for scale. What You’ll Do Lead the applied AI and analytics lifecycle — from problem framing and hypothesis generation through exploratory analysis, model development, and POC delivery. Design and build prototype models and analytical tools to test hypotheses, validate value, and inform enterprise adoption of AI solutions. Partner with business stakeholders to understand pain points and opportunities, framing data-driven approaches that balance feasibility, interpretability, and ROI. Conduct deep-dive analyses and develop clear, actionable insights that support data-driven decisions and policy formulation. Collaborate with data engineering and technology teams to ensure data accessibility and quality for POC development. Evaluate emerging AI and ML techniques (including GenAI, LLMs, and optimization algorithms) to determine applicability to business use cases. Communicate complex concepts with clarity and influence, tailoring your message to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership. Document POC learnings and transition frameworks for potential production deployment in collaboration with ML engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data science, analytics, or applied AI, with a track record of designing and delivering data-driven POCs or MVP models.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, and hands-on experience with analytical and ML libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Expertise in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model prototyping for classification, forecasting, or optimization problems.
  • Strong grasp of statistical inference, causal methods, and experimental design to evaluate business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to distill technical findings into business insights and strategic recommendations.
  • A creative, curious mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity and drive clarity through experimentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in a data or analytics-related field; OR Master’s degree in one of the above fields and 1+ year of experience in a data or analytics-related field.
  • 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Depth in applied methods such as supervised and unsupervised learning, forecasting, causal inference, and optimization.
  • Experience developing AI/ML proof-of-concepts and quantifying business value from early-stage analytical prototypes.
  • Familiarity with data visualization, storytelling, and modern analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Streamlit).
  • Working knowledge of GenAI and LLM-based techniques, such as retrieval-augmented generation, embedding-based search, or model evaluation.
  • Curiosity for new tools, data sources, and techniques that accelerate experimentation and insight generation.
  • Data science, machine learning, optimization models, Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R, Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch)

  • The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
