Senior Data Scientist - Risk Analytics

In this role, you will proactively derive data insights and collaborate with various teams, including risk, compliance, engineering, product, and design. Your work will inform how the company understands and mitigates financial, regulatory, and reputational risks. You will be tasked with building a data-informed culture across Mercury, enabling the organization to react quickly and invest intelligently based on data-driven insights. This position requires you to work on projects from inception to completion, developing deep domain expertise at the intersection of Data Science and Risk. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will own and manage core risk business and operational metrics, becoming the company-wide expert in this area. You will build observability for internal operations and risk controls through analytical deep dives and key metric dashboards. Additionally, you will respond to ad hoc data requests from various stakeholders and conduct deep-dive analyses to translate data insights into actionable recommendations. Your ability to analyze historical data to identify trends and risk factors will be essential in informing the design of effective risk mitigation strategies. Furthermore, you will collaborate with other Data Scientists and Data Engineers to enhance data pipelines and ensure the integrity and security of data assets.
