About The Position
The mission for Storage Analytics is to measure, analyze, and optimize the cost, reliability, and performance of the Google Storage stack. The Storage Analytics team implements their mission statement through the following broad efforts: building a deep understanding of Google’s Infrastructure Storage System and how its components perform optimally using defined metrics, insightful statistics, and explanatory models. Characterizing inefficient behaviors and irregular anomalies and identifying the causes of such behaviors. Proposing for deployment efficiency improvements to the design architecture, system monitoring, resource provisioning, and production operations policies. Engaging in research with leading academic institutions and industrial vendors and thus providing strategic problem-solving guidance to storage engineering functions.
