In this role, you will drive insights that shape the strategy for an education-focused digital product by analyzing large-scale telemetry and business data. You’ll partner closely with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to define and monitor key metrics, answer “why” behind performance changes, evaluate the impact of programs and initiatives, and communicate results through clear narratives and stakeholder-ready dashboards. You’ll also help maintain reliable reporting and self-serve tools so teams can monitor business health and make informed decisions quickly.

  • Lead analyses that identify drivers of acquisition, engagement, retention, and overall product performance.
  • Translate complex findings into clear recommendations that influence product and marketing decisions.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to define success metrics and integrate insights into planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requests and uncover the “why” behind trends or metric changes.
  • Build and maintain reporting queries and monitoring frameworks with Engineering to track business health.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and enable stakeholder adoption of self-service reporting.
  • Work with complex, high-volume, high-dimensional datasets from multiple sources and systems.
  • Deliver high-quality work in environments with incomplete, messy, or inconsistent data.
  • Communicate results through compelling data stories tailored to product, marketing, and leadership audiences.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics / data science / product analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience writing SQL for analysis and reporting.
  • 2+ years of experience building dashboards (Power BI preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python for analysis (statistics, data manipulation, visualization).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort working independently with ambiguous requirements.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and visual) with the ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with large-scale telemetry/event data (clickstream/product usage events).
  • Strong statistical foundation and experience with causal inference or impact evaluation (more important than advanced ML).
  • Familiarity with distributed / big-data query tools (SparkSQL, Databricks) or Azure Data Explorer.
  • Experience building “business health” monitoring and metric governance (definitions, consistency, data quality checks).
  • Interest in games and/or experience in gaming or consumer product analytics.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup in the Seattle area (or similar collaboration-focused environment).
