The primary purpose of this position is to apply the scientific method to extract knowledge and insights from various data sets, including time-series, structured, and unstructured data. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders to turn data into critical information for decision making, utilizing advanced statistical and machine learning methods. The position may require extended hours during energy delivery emergencies.

  • Develop key predictive models to enhance customer experience and operational performance.
  • Analyze data using advanced analytics techniques to support process improvement efforts.
  • Access and analyze data from various company systems.
  • Support the development of strategic business and marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data science projects.
  • Educate stakeholders on advanced analytics capabilities through presentations and workshops.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Quantitative discipline such as Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Operations Research, Physics, or Statistics.
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in developing hypotheses and applying machine learning algorithms.
  • Strong knowledge in at least two areas: machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, data mining, information retrieval, or data visualization.
  • Proven experience in developing predictive analytics projects using languages like Python, R, or Scala.
  • Ability to translate data analysis into actionable recommendations.
  • Master's or PhD in a Quantitative discipline.
  • Prior exposure to data structures related to smart-meters or outage management systems.
  • Experience in the utilities or broader energy sector.
  • Solid understanding of theories in machine learning and statistics.
  • Expert level coding skills and experience in a Unix environment.
  • Annual salary range: $104,000.00 - $143,000.00.
  • Annual bonus for eligible positions: 15%.
