About The Position

Help serve Google's worldwide user base of more than a billion people. Data Scientists provide quantitative support, market understanding and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the organization. As a data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions. You will weave stories with meaningful insight from data. You'll make critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers in Engineering and Product Management. You relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader the next. Ads Privacy and Safety drives trust with our customers, end-users and stakeholders to responsibly grow the Ads business for Google. We solve problems from adversaries in advertising fraud, spam, and abuse to evolving privacy, regulatory, and compliance obligations. Our work includes transforming the customer policy experience by steadily instrumenting the advertiser onboarding journey, using Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic workflows to prevent invalid traffic, and redefining Google's approach to consent and ads personalization. Our Data Science team of product analysts, researchers, and research scientists is at the center of solving problems' root causes or eliminating problems by changing the user experience altogether. We foster a culture of proactive measurement across our organization, improving how we operate with input and output metrics which involves defining and instrumenting them, tracking them, and guiding product development and decisions with data. Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data science.
  • Proficiency in using data to drive decision-making.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and data-driven workflows.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in the advertising industry or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advertising fraud prevention.
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations and compliance obligations.
  • Background in product analytics or research.
