About The Position

The Senior Data Scientist, Clinical Analytics role at AbbVie is a key technical leadership position focused on applying advanced analytics techniques to enhance clinical development processes. Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent field with 6+ years (BS), 4+ years (MS) or 2+ years (PhD) of related experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in R, SAS or other statistical packages.
• Intermediate-level knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques.
• Expert proficiency with visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau or equivalent.
• Experience working in Cloud Computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc) is preferred.
• Experience with Hadoop platforms and related 'big data' technologies is preferred.
• Proven expertise with Machine Learning and other advanced analytics techniques.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical concepts in layman's terms.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated history of successful execution in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in Cloud Computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc) is preferred.
• Experience with Hadoop platforms and related 'big data' technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Connects with cross-functional teams to design work product and act as an analytics consultant.
• Anticipates and identifies issues that could affect timelines or quality and develops options and solutions.
• Leads and helps establish design principles and standards for consistent analytical work products across projects.
• Develops prototypes, test methods, and algorithms using emerging statistical methodologies, ML, and AI.
• Enables data-driven insights to support clinical development, including precision medicine.
• Ensures data integrity and quality in presentations and work products.
• Leads cross-functional innovation and functional process improvement initiatives.
• Ensures adherence to federal regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), and AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Coaches and mentors junior team members.
• Identifies business needs and supports the creation of standard KPIs, reports, and statistical analyses.
• Works with cross-functional teams to strategize on analytics for evaluating clinical trial progress and emerging risks.
