About The Position

Torch Technologies Inc., is seeking a Senior Data Scientist/Analytics. This role leads the planning and execution of advanced analytics initiatives across massive, complex datasets in classified government and defense environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data engineering, paired with a strong ability to communicate findings to both technical and executive audiences.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field (Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related field.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance required; TS/SCI eligibility preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and automation.
  • Expert-level experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS GovCloud or equivalent) and enterprise data warehouse architecture.
  • Experience deploying and integrating LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, and RAG pipelines, including in air-gapped or restricted environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships in government or defense settings.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and determine appropriate methods for creatively exploring and manipulating extremely large, complex datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Develop and analyze models using mathematics, machine learning, and statistical and engineering methods to discover multiple possible solutions to a given problem.
  • Build and maintain data engineering pipelines, ETL workflows, and automated data quality systems across production environments.
  • Create user-friendly reports, dashboards, and data visualizations tailored to both technical analysts and non-technical executive audiences.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure connectivity and integration between various databases, platforms, and systems.
  • Interface with stakeholders — from project managers to program directors — to develop data-driven solutions to current and emerging challenges.
  • Communicate results in a creative, story-telling manner that is broadly understandable across diverse audiences.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and programmers, including performance management and professional development.
  • Design and govern agentic AI and LLM-based workflows, including RAG pipelines and local model deployment in restricted or classified environments.
