As a Data Platform Engineer, you will design and build scalable data infrastructure that powers analytics and machine learning capabilities across our portfolio companies. You'll work at the intersection of data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and backend development to create robust data pipelines and platforms that enable data-driven decision making.

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in data engineering, with deep experience building and scaling data platforms and pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills with extensive experience in PostgreSQL and database optimization.
• Advanced Python programming capabilities for data processing, automation, and backend development.
• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and architecture patterns.
• Solid experience with dbt for data transformation and analytics engineering workflows.
• Strong backend development skills with ability to build scalable APIs and services.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure management, including experience with Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of GenAI technologies and their application in data platforms.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and cross-cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with React and modern front-end technologies for building data interfaces.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript for type-safe application development.
• Familiarity with Node.js for building backend services and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support advanced analytics and data science initiatives.
• Implement and optimize cloud infrastructure solutions, with a focus on monitoring, deployment automation, and system reliability.
• Develop backend services and APIs that integrate with data platforms and support data consumption across various applications.
• Contribute to front-end data visualization and dashboarding tools to make data insights accessible to stakeholders.
• Design, build, and maintain sophisticated relational algebra SQL engines encapsulated within Data Products that are integrated throughout the software application.
