About The Position

Working under general supervision, you will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and applications that meet organizational standards and user requirements. You will test and validate software solutions, document issues and resolutions, propose process improvements, and help shape future data configurations for federal mission systems.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current Secret Clearance
  • Must live within the DMV area
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (with 7 or more being highly desirable)
  • Strong proficiency in Python (for data pipelines and custom logic)
  • Solid experience with SQL and Apache Spark/PySpark
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and scalable data processing
  • Demonstrated ability to build and support data integration pipelines and ensure data quality
  • Analytical mindset with workflow/process review capability and documentation skills
  • Understanding of federal or defense mission IT environments, or willingness to rapidly adapt to such environments
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface across technical and business stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Palantir Foundry platforms (ontology design, pipeline builder, low-code/no-code UI)
  • Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and/or React for front-end or application UI development
  • Previous experience in DoD/federal systems, including clearance environment and compliance frameworks
  • Hands-on experience integrating machine learning pipelines (feature engineering, model deployment)
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, version control, and data governance best practices

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines (ETL/ELT) in support of enterprise data systems
  • Ingest and integrate data from diverse sources (structured/unstructured) ensuring data quality, version control, and cleanliness
  • Work within the cloud environment (AWS, Azure) and related big-data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark/PySpark)
  • Participate in workflow analysis and recommend data process and quality improvements
  • Collaborate in building data models, analytics dashboards, and visualizations to deliver actionable insights
  • Support application development within operational platforms (e.g., low-code/no-code environments) and help translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Assist in integrating and deploying ML/AI model pipelines when applicable
  • Document software and data issues; report progress on problem resolution to management
  • Understand and apply system architecture, data security best practices, and compliance requirements relevant to federal environments
