About The Team The Outgo engineering team is at the heart of revolutionizing financial services for truckers. We build robust, fault-tolerant systems that make real-time decisions and manage money flows with bank-grade reliability. What You’ll Do You are someone who… Demonstrates pride, ownership, and accountability for your work, and expect the same from those you work with Shares opinions openly on what's working and what's not across the product, tech stack, and team processes Works with cross-functional partners to solve business problems using data Builds, maintains, and owns datasets that are accurate and simple Seeks feedback early and often in the development process Identifies speed vs quality tradeoffs and balances them judiciously Believes diverse teams make better decisions, and actively fosters a culture where every person can do their best work

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, or in a similar role with a focus on building data infrastructure for analytical or product purposes.
  • Track record of enabling product teams to make decisions using data
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g. Snowflake), and data modeling concepts and tools (e.g. DBT)
  • Proficiency in Python (or similar Object-Oriented Programming)
  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data ingestion processes
  • Experience with implementing monitoring and alerting for data pipelines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • You have prior experience with payments, accounting, or financial technology
  • You have direct experience managing sensitive financial records
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and their data services (e.g. S3, Lambda)
  • Knowledge of stream processing frameworks (e.g. Kafka)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
