Senior Data Engineer
About The Position
The candidate will support Oracle data transformation and migration services to transfer historical order, customer, and reference data from a production clone of the environment. Responsibilities include exporting data from the cloned environment and importing it into the new environment. This role involves performing data transformation to align with DMP requirements, including editing queries to meet size limits and specific formatting, creating Materialized Views, and editing and executing external scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to process, parse, and transform loader (.ldr) exports into XML (Base64-encoded attachments) before transferring data from Out-of-Band (OOB) sources. The position also requires developing and optimizing queries for efficient data retrieval and processing, leveraging manual or automated processes for data export and import, and validating import formats for various data types such as JSON and XML, ensuring transformations meet required formats.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or an equivalent field
- Unclassified clearance, eligible for DoD SECRET
Responsibilities
- Perform data transformation to align with DMP requirements
- Edit queries to meet size limits and specific formatting requirements
- Create Materialized Views (MVs) to support the migration effort
- Edit and execute external scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to process, parse, and transform loader (.ldr) exports into XML (Base64-encoded attachments) before transferring data from Out-of-Band (OOB) sources
- Develop queries to meet import requirements
- Optimize queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing
- Leverage manual or automated processes to export data from the cloned environment and import it into production
- Validate import formats for various data types, including JSON and XML formats
- Ensure data transformation and export meet required formats, including transforming columns into XML rows within SQL execution
- Use external PowerShell scripts to convert loader exports into XML
