About The Position

The Senior Data Engineer manages the back-end data environment that supports World’s Finest Chocolate’s growing analytics and digital capabilities. This role builds and maintains scalable data lake and data warehouse solutions, develops data pipelines and ETL processes, defines data models, and integrates data from enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Stratum, SAP, and others into a unified, trusted reporting environment. Sitting at the intersection of data engineering and analytics enablement, this role works closely with business stakeholders, Data Science, and IT Business Analysts to ensure the organization has reliable, well-structured, and AI-ready data that drives informed decision-making across the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database management, or analytics infrastructure roles
  • Hands-on experience with building and maintaining data lakes or data warehouses
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL frameworks
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., DataBricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery)
  • Working knowledge of APIs and data integration tools
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating ERP (SAP) and CRM (Salesforce) systems
  • Familiarity with data governance and master data management (MDM) concepts
  • Experience supporting analytics or BI enablement projects

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a scalable data lake/data warehouse architecture to centralize data from multiple systems (Salesforce, Stratum, SAP, etc.)
  • Build, test, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for automated data ingestion and transformation
  • Partner with business users to understand analytical requirements and design underlying data structures to support them
  • Define and maintain data models, ensuring standardization of definitions, hierarchies, and metrics
  • Manage data validation and quality control to ensure accuracy and consistency across platforms
  • Integrate external data sources (e.g., demographic, geographic, or customer data) efficiently into the core environment
  • Support deployment of BI and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) by preparing optimized datasets and queries
  • Document data architecture, pipelines, and governance processes for scalability and future handoffs
  • Work with IT security to maintain appropriate access control, data privacy, and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with the Strategy & Insights team to identify gaps in data infrastructure and plan roadmap enhancements
