JOB DESCRIPTION The Senior Data Engineer will lead data engineering initiatives for high-priority projects. This position requires extensive expertise in data architecture and system engineering, supporting sophisticated mission systems within dynamic environments. This is a hybrid role located in Crystal City, VA with the option for flex hours. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing advanced data pipelines and architecture to support high-level government objectives. Working directly on classified projects, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and securing data flows and employing your expertise in cloud-based solutions and data engineering tools.

Requirements

  • Python
  • Regular Expression scripting
  • SQL: Preference for PostgreSQL and TSQL.
  • Git
  • Docker
  • Trino
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm charts.
  • Deploying software in Kubernetes with Argo.
  • Airflow
  • ElasticSearch and AWS OpenSearch
  • Working in a Linux environment.
  • Database optimization
  • Clearance: Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance is required. Candidates without this clearance will not be considered.
  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using Python and Airflow to support secure and efficient data processing
  • Develop scalable microservices for data handling and transformation, suitable for high-volume data ingestion and processing
  • Curate, cleanse, and secure data to support accurate and safe data transfers across multiple classification levels
  • Develop solutions to support both batch and streaming data processing
  • Integrate data pipelines with data lakes, warehouses, and databases, enhancing data accessibility and efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical data requirements
  • Ensure adherence to data handling best practices and compliance with security requirements when working with classified datasets
  • Employ data visualization techniques to make data more accessible and actionable for mission teams.
