Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating production data pipelines end‑to‑end to include but not limited to the following:
  • Proven experience applying SDLC best practices in data engineering environments, including experience supporting CI/CD for data engineering workflows
  • Hands‑on experience implementing data quality testing and production controls
  • Strong SQL and programming experience (e.g., Python)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated or audit‑focused environments
  • Familiarity with data governance, lineage, or cataloging workflows
  • Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, or observability solutions
  • FinOps mindset for data warehouse cost optimization
  • Knowledge of data reliability or data quality frameworks
  • Experience collaborating with Security or Compliance teams
  • Familiarity with change management or release processes in production environments

Responsibilities

  • Own end‑to‑end reliability of data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers
  • Design scalable ELT/ETL pipelines with retry, backfill, and safe reprocessing capabilities
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response patterns to improve pipeline stability
  • Enforce SDLC best practices (branching strategy, code reviews, CI/CD, release management)
  • Establish traceable change management with documented approvals and rollback plans
  • Implement and maintain data quality testing, freshness checks, and anomaly detection
  • Detect and manage schema drift and breaking changes proactively
  • Improve pipeline observability through monitoring of job failures, anomalies, and cost spikes
  • Optimize pipeline performance and warehouse costs through workload tuning and partitioning
  • Track and report on reliability KPIs (e.g., pipeline success rate, SLA adherence, MTTR)
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, recovery procedures, and operational documentation
  • Automate common operational workflows such as backfills and dependency management
  • Partner with Analytics Engineering and BI teams to support reliable downstream consumption
  • Collaborate with Platform, Governance, and Security teams on controls and audit readiness
  • Support delivery of incremental releases to improve stability and reduce operational risk
