Vantor is hiring an Elastic Data Solutions Engineer, a front-facing engineer who thrives on solving complex data challenges and enjoys working directly with end users. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with CI poly (or willingness to obtain a CI poly)
  • Minimum of 14 years of total professional experience in a technical support role
  • Demonstrated technical experience integrating and developing custom solutions for the intelligence analyst community.
  • Familiarity with and experience integrating Elastic Stack solutions (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) into analytical platforms, workflows, and applications
  • Demonstrated experience performing data extraction, manipulation, and visualization with proficiency in Java, Python, R, and/or other similar languages
  • Willingness to work onsite 90% or as needs dictate in either Herndon, VA or Westminster, CO.
  • Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, GIS. Equivalent demonstrated experience of 4 years or more will be considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build innovative discovery and automation tools with Elastic and other technology to empower geospatial and intelligence analysts to tackle complex, real-world challenges using diverse data types and sources.
  • Design and implement Elastic Stack solutions (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) to support search, analytics, observability, and security needs.
  • Develop efficient queries and indexing strategies, optimize performance, and manage large-scale data pipelines.
  • Automate data workflows using scripting languages like Python or Bash; develop custom Elastic extensions when needed.
  • Collaborate with users and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Monitor and manage deployment configurations and snapshots to ensure service availability.
  • Work with Elastic co. helpdesk to resolve technical issues.
