About The Position

As an nVent Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and platforms that enable data-driven decision making and insights across the organization. You will work with a variety of data sources, technologies, emerging tools, and frameworks. You will collaborate with Business Stakeholders, Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Architects to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst.
  • Experience developing end-to-end technical solutions and sustaining solutions in production, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration.
  • Experience in cloud data platforms like Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Databricks.
  • Data integration and transformation using tools such as dbt, Matillion, HVR, AWS Data Migration Services, Azure DataFactory, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), Google DataProc, or other data integration technologies.
  • Experience with cloud and data storage: S3, ADLS, ElasticSearch, Cassandra or other NoSQL storage systems.
  • Experience with agile project methodologies and a collaborative work style.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in SAP BW, SAP HANA, Kalido MDM and DIW.
  • Experience in data modeling with JDE, Infor M3, Oracle, or SAP ERP systems.
  • Experience with reporting and dashboarding tools like SSRS, BEx, Power BI, Tableau.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft's SQL Server data platform technology (SSIS, SSAS).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and platforms using cloud-based technologies and best practices.
  • Integrate and transform data from various sources, such as SAP, SQL Server, S3, Infor M3, JDE, Salesforce, and APIs.
  • Optimize and monitor the performance, quality, and availability of data pipelines and platforms, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Support data analysis and reporting by creating and maintaining data models, schemas, views, and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Document and communicate data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing across the team and the organization.
  • Research and evaluate new data technologies and trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and challenges, translating them into clear, concise, and technically feasible data analysis requests.
