Join Lockheed Martin's digital transformation journey as we accelerate the OneLM Mission-Driven Transformation on the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Orchestration Platforms team. We are working on reshaping our operations and business processes to better serve our customers in terms of cost, quality, and capabilities, while delivering the speed, agility, and insights necessary to stay ahead of rapidly-evolving threats. The Missiles and Fire Control Orchestration Platforms Team is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team.

  • Work with stakeholders, architects, and internal customers to build and maintain data models and database driven tools that accelerate business processes.
  • Create ETL pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into databases or data sources that are ready for analysis.
  • Design and implement data solutions by defining functional capabilities, security, back-up and recovery specifications.
  • Formulate functional and technical requirements from business problems.
  • Design digital thread solutions that treat data as an asset that can easily move between systems.
  • Architect application landscapes and solutions for deployment within Lockheed Martin, leveraging expertise in IBM CloudPak (CP4D) Services architecture and security.
  • Interpret systems metrics to diagnose and resolve problems, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile (Scrum/Jira) fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to Obtain and Maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required due to system access.
  • Strong experience in SQL.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server development including stored procedures, views, table design, permissions.
  • Experience with CI/CD, and Gitlab capabilities in a data environment.
  • Experience with Python focused on data transformation and data movement.
  • Experience with Data Lakes, Data warehouses and Big Data environments.
  • Experience with JDBC, ODBC, Connectors, API based access, and REST API calls.
  • Experience with data modeling, data structures, databases, and ETL tools (DataStage, NIFI, etc).
  • Ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Experience with data management and analytics, with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D) and/or equivalent products like IBM Knowledge Catalog, Data Virtualization, DataStage and Cognos.
  • Experience with DB2 or other relational database (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres etc.).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, IBM Cognos.
  • Experience with data virtualization tools such as Tibco Data Virtualization (Tibco DV).
  • Experience with AWS cloud and core services: S3, IAM, Lambda, EMR, EC2, RDS, VPC, Storage, etc.
