Position Summary: The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, securing, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. This role enables reliable, efficient, and secure data access to support analytics, business operations, and cybersecurity initiatives. The engineer will ensure that data platforms and workflows adhere to security best practices, support threat detection and response capabilities, and meet compliance requirements across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud data engineering, data integration, and/or data analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience developing scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, PySpark, and/or Scala.
  • 3+ years of experience with Databricks and/or other cloud-native data engineering platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Security Engineering, Security Automation, or supporting cybersecurity platforms (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence tools).
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, data governance practices, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience applying security controls within cloud data ecosystems, such as secure data lake architectures, role-based access, or sensitive data handling.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex and disparate data sources—both business and security-related—and design scalable, secure data engineering pipelines.
  • Develop and implement robust ELT processes and automated data workflows using Databricks and modern cloud technologies.
  • Build and optimize data models, data marts, and integration frameworks that support analytics, data science, and cybersecurity monitoring (e.g., SIEM integration, threat intelligence enrichment).
  • Implement data quality checks and validation routines to ensure accuracy, completeness, integrity, and proper data governance.
  • Write efficient, maintainable code in SQL, Python, PySpark, and/or Scala to support data ingestion, transformation, and large-scale processing.
  • Ensure data pipelines and storage solutions follow security engineering best practices, including encryption, access control, audit logging, and secure DevOps patterns.
  • Document data engineering processes, data flows, and system architecture for cross-team visibility and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver secure, high-quality data solutions aligned with business and cyber objectives.
