About The Position

The Senior Data Engineer – Palantir Foundry is a hands-on engineer responsible for building, curating, and operationalizing data pipelines, ontologies, and applications within Palantir Foundry. This role partners closely with the Principal Data & Semantic Architect, GCP Data Engineering teams, and business stakeholders to turn enterprise data into trusted analytics, workflows, and AI-enabled use cases.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • You demonstrate h ands-on experience building pipelines and transformations using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • You have e xperience working with modern data platforms and analytics tools.
  • You have a s trong proficiency in Python / PySpark and SQL.
  • You’re experienced with Palantir Foundry (pipelines, ontology, apps) or strong ability to ramp quickly.
  • You’re familiar with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or equivalent.
  • You have an u nderstanding of data quality, lineage, and access control concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Palantir Foundry Engineering Design, build, and maintain data pipelines in Palantir Foundry, using Pipeline Builder and Code Repositories (Python / PySpark / SQL).
  • Implement and extend ontology objects (entities, attributes, relationships, metrics) as defined by the Principal Data & Semantic Architect.
  • Map curated datasets into ontology-backed objects for reuse across analytics, applications, and workflows.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, permissions, and reliability of Foundry datasets and objects.
  • Build and support Foundry applications, operational workflows, and analytical views that leverage ontology-backed data.
  • Partner with analytics and business teams to translate requirements into performant Foundry implementations.
  • Support AI- and decision-oriented use cases by preparing ML-ready and feature-aligned datasets within Foundry.
  • Work closely with GCP Data Engineers to align Foundry pipelines with upstream ingestion and transformation patterns.
  • Collaborate with integration teams to ensure consistent sourcing from SAP, WMS, e-commerce, CRM, and third-party systems.
  • Follow clean-core and platform governance principles when integrating SAP and other enterprise systems.
  • Adhere to enterprise data governance, security, and privacy standards within Foundry.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and release processes to ensure production readiness.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance issues.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the Data & AI team.
