The ITA Data team builds the foundational data infrastructure and analytics tools that power Amazon's hiring decisions. We create secure, scalable solutions that enable teams across PXT to access and analyze recruitment data effectively while maintaining data integrity.

  • Lead technical design/code reviews, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive engineering best practices across development lifecycle.
  • Develop on global AWS architecture to implement scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure, supporting analytics at scale.
  • Develop data governance processes through existing and new technology including tools like SageMaker Unified Studio.
  • Design and enforce data modeling standards, lineage, and governance frameworks while ensuring secure, compliant solutions.
  • Support strategic planning by working with Executives and Senior Managers, Principle Engineers, and cross-team Data Engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineers, foster technical excellence, and empower team self-service capabilities for handling complex data tasks independently.
  • 7+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience mentoring team members on best practices
  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience operating large data warehouses
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
