Our work powers informed decision-making at every pivotal moment in oncology—from treatment selection to clinical trial design to real-world evidence generation. Ontada's Data Engineering team is seeking a Senior Oncology Biomarker Data Engineer to lead strategic initiatives focused on biomarker and genomics data integration and analytics. This role is critical in designing and maintaining scalable data platforms that support oncology research, clinical workflows, and real-world evidence generation. You will collaborate with data scientists, clinical experts, and software engineers to build robust data pipelines that ingest, transform, and harmonize biomarker, genomic, and clinical data from diverse sources. This position requires deep expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies, and healthcare data standards, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that support oncology precision medicine.

  • Lead strategic initiatives focused on biomarker and genomics data integration and analytics.
  • Design and maintain scalable data platforms that support oncology research, clinical workflows, and real-world evidence generation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, clinical experts, and software engineers to build robust data pipelines.
  • Ingest, transform, and harmonize biomarker, genomic, and clinical data from diverse sources.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Data Science, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, or bioinformatics, with a minimum of 2-3 years of pipeline development for genomics/biomarker data.
  • 5+ years in technical leadership roles managing cross-functional teams.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure cloud platform.
  • Experience working with large-scale healthcare or life sciences data platforms.
  • Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines in platforms like Azure Databricks.
  • Deep experience with genomics data processing, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data pipelines and integration of multi-omics datasets.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, or Scala for data transformation and automation.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, OMOP, CDISC).
  • Experience supporting machine learning workflows, including feature engineering and model deployment.
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and GitHub workflows.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
