About The Position

The Senior Data Center Technician position is part of the Neurodiversity Hiring Program, aimed at creating an inclusive hiring approach that recognizes and embraces the strengths of neurodiverse candidates. The role involves developing an understanding of standard processes and procedures for preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning IT data center technology and equipment. The technician will work under the guidance of more experienced colleagues and will play a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for online services. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
  • 1+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology (e.g., military, networking, help desk).
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • 2+ years of experience in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 data center environment.
  • Experience handling AI GPU equipment (H100, A100 or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an applied understanding of standard processes and procedures for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, and/or decommissioning IT data center technology and equipment.
  • Review Process Change Notification (PCN) and understand the impact on work execution.
  • Complete assigned tickets efficiently and in alignment with relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Develop and employ an effective execution order strategy for assigned tasks.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify technical issues and replace faulty components with minimal disruption.
  • Follow procedures to communicate and escalate data center technical or safety-related incidents to management.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and comply with safety procedures and training requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and collaborating with other technicians.
