About The Position

TECKpert’s client, a government agency in Tallahassee, FL, is seeking a Senior Data Architect to support a large-scale financial systems modernization initiative. This role plays a critical part in transitioning legacy financial data assets to a modern statewide accounting platform. The selected consultant will analyze, redesign, and remediate complex data models, ETL processes, and reporting structures to ensure alignment with new financial standards and cloud-first architecture objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
7+ years of experience with large, complex database systems
7+ years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Analyst
10+ years working with enterprise database platforms
Strong experience with financial data systems and reporting
Extensive experience with ETL tools and data warehousing
Proven background in data quality management and governance
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with state or government financial systems
Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms
Experience with Informatica or similar data integration tools
Background supporting large system modernization initiatives

Responsibilities

Analyze existing financial data models, data marts, and general ledger structures to assess impacts from accounting system modernization
Design and implement scalable, robust data models aligned with updated chart of accounts and standardized business processes
Evaluate and enhance ETL processes to improve data quality, accuracy, and timeliness
Implement data quality controls and automation for recurring data loads
Collaborate with development teams to deploy updated data models and resolve integration issues
Provide guidance on data visualization and financial reporting best practices
Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders
Document data architecture, remediation strategies, and implementation plans
Support cloud-first initiatives and ensure compatibility with modern cloud platforms
Mentor team members and provide technical leadership in data architecture best practices
