About The Position

Davidson is a distinguished company in the aerospace and missile defense industry, known for hiring exceptional experts, engineers, and software developers to deliver advanced, intelligent technology solutions for national defense. Davidson is seeking a Senior Data Architect in Huntsville, AL, to define and govern end-to-end data structures for Navy HPTE systems. This role involves translating high-level software objects, attributes, and relationships into implementable data structures, extending to byte-level signal definitions within embedded and control system environments. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring data consistency, traceability, and interoperability across all system layers.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability and willingness to upgrade to TS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering
• Experience defining data structures from application-level objects to embedded-level representations using UML in MagicDraw (aka. Cameo)
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, schemas, and interface definitions
• Experience with embedded systems data structures, messaging, and signal-level definitions
• Familiarity with industrial control systems and PLC environments
• Experience developing ICDs and interface specifications
• Understanding of real-time data exchange and system integration patterns

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end data architectures spanning software, integration, and embedded environments
• Decompose high-level software objects into detailed data structures, schemas, and interfaces
• Specify data representations down to byte-level signals for embedded and control systems
• Define and manage data interfaces supporting real-time control, telemetry, and system coordination
• Ensure alignment between software data structures and implementation-level data exchanges
• Develop and document interface control specifications (ICDs) and data definitions
• Collaborate with software and engineering teams to ensure consistent data implementation across systems
