About The Position

As a Central Data Architect, you will play a critical role in empowering and accelerating Line of Business (LOB) data teams by providing clear, scalable, and actionable architectural guidance. Partnering closely with the Enterprise Data Architect, you will define and promote foundational data architecture patterns that enable LOB teams to move faster with confidence, while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards. You will act as a trusted advisor and enabler, helping federated teams adopt best practices, leverage reusable assets, and navigate architectural decisions that drive consistency, innovation, and speed across WTW's data ecosystem. This role is pivotal in fostering a federated data model that balances autonomy with alignment, enabling LOB teams to deliver business value faster while contributing to a cohesive enterprise data strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with WTW's "common as possible, distinct as necessary" philosophy.
  • Collaborate with embedded data teams to educate, guide, and support the adoption of centralized data architecture strategies.
  • Work closely with business and technical teams to provide architectural guidance on data management, data quality, metadata management, and data lineage, ensuring alignment with enterprise data principles and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Lead the creation of conceptual and reference architecture designs that support scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of WTW's data platform strategy, including the use of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and other modern data services.
  • Support the migration of legacy on-premises data systems to cloud-native architectures.
  • Document and communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and implementation guidance in a clear and consumable format.
  • Assist in understanding compliance requirements with respect to data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements across all data solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and platforms to support enterprise data initiatives.
