About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Data Architect/Modeler to join our expanding Data Management practice. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale data modernization projects. You are expected to be a skilled, hands-on practitioner and data modeler in delivering data modernization projects on Snowflake and/or Databricks/Fabric, specifically involving SAP data. Emphasizing that this is a senior, client-facing role with strong personal presence, client-facing skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Over 10 years of expertise in data management, including 5+ years as a Data Architect, delivering innovative solutions and driving transformative initiatives.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering complex, large-scale data modernization projects in Snowflake across diverse industries, and Data Vault expertise is a must.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with various data architecture patterns, including data warehouse, data mesh, data vault, and data lakehouse, to address modern analytics needs.
  • Experience in data analysis and profiling of source data independently to research and document data scenarios.
  • Experience in analyzing legacy data warehouse implementations in HANA, identify gaps and provide recommendations to apply for future state data models to be deployed on Snowflake
  • Experience in developing detailed data models and ERDs including conceptual, logical and physical data models enabling robust data structuring and optimization for both operational and analytical data stores.
  • Expert level understanding and past experience working with SAP data including SAP ECC, S4 HANA, APO, IBP etc.
  • Experience in generating source-to-target data mapping documents as a deliverables to assist in data pipelines implementation.
  • Functional understanding and data architecture experience with Finance, Supply Chian, Quality and Manufacturing data domains.
  • Experienced in leveraging industry-standard tools such as SQL DBM, Lucidchart, and ER/Studio for designing and maintaining standard data models.
  • Exceptional ability to translate vague and complex business requirements into well-structured and scalable data models that align with organizational goals.
  • Advanced expertise in SQL and Python, with proven capabilities in data ingestion, querying, extraction, and transformation.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with leading data platforms, including Snowflake and Databricks, to architect and implement high-performance solutions.
  • Solid understanding of modern data and integration patterns, including APIs, event-driven architectures, streaming, and ELT/ETL workflows
  • Experienced in implementing comprehensive data governance frameworks and deploying data catalog solutions to enhance data quality, security, and discoverability.
  • Ability to problem-solve in dynamic, evolving environments and provide consultative insights during high-pressure conversations.
  • Ability to lead a group of data modelers and data mapping analysts.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, BI and Data Engineering teams to ensure alignment across architecture and engineering practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage technical and business-oriented audiences effectively.
  • Competence in prioritizing and managing multiple competing responsibilities while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Adaptable, forward-thinking mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a data architect and data modeling lead on client projects, driving the successful execution of comprehensive data management strategies.
  • Develop and lead data architecture strategies and roadmaps to align with client business objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Design conceptual, logical and physical data models adhering to industry standards and to serve business requirements.
  • Create dimensional models geared towards enterprise reporting and self-service business consumption.
  • Works closely with data owners, stewards, and SMEs to understand business data and reporting requirements and terminology.
  • Works closely with technical resources to understand architecture principles, data domains, and underlying data sources.
  • Captures data mapping and transformation rules needed to move data from existing sources to future targets.
  • Uses data profiling and/or additional research to understand source data to mitigate data quality concerns.
  • Oversees implementation of data pipelines to migrate data as needed and validate/document success.
  • Develop and enforce robust data standards, policies, best practices, and procedures to uphold data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Lead the assessment, selection, and adoption of cutting-edge data management technologies to build scalable and efficient end-to-end solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Design and implement high-performance solutions leveraging cloud platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Define and execute comprehensive data governance strategies, ensuring security, compliance, and data discoverability across the organization.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth and enhancing team capabilities.
