About The Position

Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve” by collecting, organizing, and analyzing various data sources to provide reports, extracts, and workable data to Management and others in the Credit Union to assist in managing, monitoring, and making informed decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or Information Technology is preferred
  • Strong understanding of key data warehouse and relational database concepts and trends
  • Experience writing SQL queries, preferable in Snowflake and Oracle
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as PowerBI
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate data solutions to diverse credit union audience.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage change effectively
  • Analytical ability to research technical issues and provide workable recommendations which meet regulatory and security requirements.
  • Has strong understanding of credit union data environments including loans, shares, transactions and financial accounting transactions
  • Office environment with moderate level of noise
  • Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer, fax machine and other office machines
  • Prolonged sitting or standing
  • Frequent mental and visual concentration
  • Minimal lifting of up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting across the organization in a scalable manner with little supervision
  • Customized application and report development, automation, and technical support of the data warehouse and reporting tools
  • Work through root-cause analysis and perform advanced data research
  • Mentor other team members
  • Work with and assist internal, external and regulatory auditors with the collection of data in response to inquiries, audits and exams
  • Partner with stakeholders and IT to understand data requirements and create innovative data warehouse solutions.
  • Maintains a full understanding of how data moves through the various software systems, in order to identify the best means by which information can be attained for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Lead cultural change for data management and governance functions by implementing strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Partner to identify and define shared key business terms, business rules, quality requirements, critical data elements, and align consistently across the credit union enabling our company to find, understand, access, and consume the data we need.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements for efficient and effective workflow.
  • Works with vendors to supply or gather data for credit union use such as TransUnion, Competitive Edge, nCino, etc.
  • Be self-motivated and creative as you will deal with interesting and complex issues
  • Primary developer of data extracts needed for third-party vendor relationships.
  • Assists the merger team by researching and analyzing general ledger and member data of the merging credit union to find the best fit with Capital’s data.
  • May perform other duties as assigned within the Data Services department.
