The Senior Data Analyst will translate business requirements into effective data models and business intelligence solutions, developing and optimizing Power BI reports and dashboards. This role involves collaborating with business and technical teams to deliver actionable insights, ensure data quality, and maintain best practices in analytics. The ideal candidate will support continuous improvement by staying current with industry trends and recommending enhancements to BI tools and processes. The position requires working from our Phoenix office at least 2-3 days per week.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in data analytics/BI with deep Power BI experience (data models, DAX, performance tuning).
  • Strong SQL skills (window functions, CTEs, query optimization).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas).
  • Experience working with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with refresh optimization, query folding, and hybrid import modes.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating across teams.
  • Must successfully pass Background Check.
  • Strong advanced understanding of job requirements and responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric (Workspaces, Lakehouse/Warehouse, pipelines).
  • Python for data analysis (pandas, pySpark) and basic orchestration.
  • Knowledge of Git-based BI lifecycle and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with Tabular Editor, calculation groups, and performance analyzer.
  • Understanding of data visualization best practices and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into robust data models and BI solutions.
  • Develop and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring performance and usability.
  • Build and maintain semantic models, implement DAX calculations, and apply best practices for data visualization.
  • Partner with business teams to identify KPIs, define metrics, and deliver insights that influence strategy.
  • Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on data pipelines and integration for BI solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security through proper governance (RLS/OLS).
  • Stay current with BI trends and recommend improvements to tools and processes.
