About the role The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer role provides leadership and subject matter expertise on cybersecurity-related issues and decisions. This position requires designing and implementing system security solutions and capabilities that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The role is accountable for performing technical research on a wide array of security automation topics, engaging in software development tasks including prototyping and tool development, and participating in consensus-building meetings on standards topics.

  • Recommend and utilize (or develop) AI-powered tools to detect and mitigate threats before they infiltrate networks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment up to and including testing of digital technology in nuclear construction projects from a cyber security perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with 10 CFR 50.54(p) by preparing and maintaining safeguards contingency plan procedures. This includes developing and implementing cyber security measures in accordance with NRC regulations to protect against cyber threats.
  • Create and maintain security protocols to protect digital assets.
  • Develop response strategies and respond to security incidents and mitigating potential risks.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in IT Security, regulatory compliance, risk management, incident response, or network security.
  • 5-7 years of experience working as a cybersecurity analyst, penetration tester, or SOC engineer.
  • 5-7 years of experience in designing, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading network security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated project management skills related to the development and implementation of cyber security solutions including demonstrated ability to manage timelines, resources, and cross-functional teams.
  • A deep understanding of encryption technologies to establish multiple layers of security through encryption, access controls, and firewalls.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional is preferred
  • Experience with development and implementation of zero trust security strategies is a plus
  • Familiarity with advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data science for threat detection and prevention is a plus.
