About The Position

CACI is aggressively seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to support the U. S. Navy’s premier development, test and evaluation command located on the beautiful eastern shore of Virginia (Accomack County) at Wallops Island. As a Lead Cyber Security Engineer and certified Naval Validator, you will be an integral member of a talented and innovative government/industry Team supporting a vast array of Cyber/IA responsibilities for the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) and its customers developing and fielding programs such as the AEGIS, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Integrated Combat Systems. The successful candidate will provide Cyber Security Subject Matter Expertise in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) at Wallops Island, Virginia and NIWC in Norfolk, Virginia. Work will be done onsite three days per week and remotely twice per week. This may change based on mission needs.

Requirements

  • Current Secret Clearance
  • Current Operating System or Networking Technology Certification
  • IT-1 Level Clearance Investigation
  • Navy Qualified Validator Certification (NQV)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience providing Information Assurance and Cyber Security services, at least 7 years in DOD

Nice To Haves

  • Current Top Secret Clearance
  • IAM Level III or IAT Level III Certification as required by DODD 8570

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and applying technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from malicious attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
  • Maintaining network devices and information security incident, damage and threat assessment programs.
  • Providing intrusion support to high technology investigations in the form of network assessments.
  • Researching and maintaining proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer and network vulnerabilities.
  • Designing, developing, or recommending integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected.
  • Participation in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
  • Configuring and validating secure systems, testing security products/systems to detect weaknesses.
  • Generating security architecture documentation.
  • Designing and implementing plans of action and milestones to remediate findings from vulnerability and risk assessments.
  • Leading the Cyber Security Team responsible for IA maintenance including reviewing logs, scanning for vulnerabilities, and applying patches.
  • Assessing and implementing corrective actions associated with technical vulnerabilities.
  • Identifying, responding, and reporting security anomalies and integrity loopholes.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, managing access control, and analyzing logs for RDT&E networks.
  • Tracking and reporting certifications of system technicians to the ISSO.
  • Maintaining Privileged Access to information technology systems.
  • Providing Cyber Security Engineering and IA for A&A technical support and documentation services.
  • Reviewing and updating network administrative documentation for SCSC information systems.
  • Validating A&A packages meet compliance requirements and providing reports.
  • Generating A&A POA&Ms for accredited systems.
  • Reviewing vulnerability and scanning reports to liaise with Systems Administrators.
  • Maintaining and recommending IAVM and SEIM tools.
  • Reviewing network and system audit logs and notifying the client of potential threats.
  • Supporting documentation and policy transition to NIST Risk Management Framework process.
  • Collecting evidence, sanitizing systems, and preparing documentation for electronic incidents.
