The Senior Cyber Security Architect, OT at Bayer is responsible for defining and assessing the company's security strategy and technical architecture. This role involves translating business objectives into specific security controls, providing advanced technical security architectural design, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. The architect will work across various technical domains to develop tailored cybersecurity designs, oversee the deployment of security technologies, and maintain security standards and architecture patterns specific to the Industrial & OT domain.

  • Define and assess Bayer's security strategy, technical architecture, and practices.
  • Translate business objectives and risk management strategies into specific security controls.
  • Provide advanced technical security architectural design for complex applications and platforms.
  • Utilize the Security Controls Framework to ensure controlled specification of Security Solutions across applicable technical domains.
  • Design and develop tailored cybersecurity designs that address specific threats and oversee the selection and deployment of security technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and best practice frameworks.
  • Align IT security requirements with business goals using industry standard architecture frameworks.
  • Create and maintain relevant Security Standards and Security Architecture Patterns.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance to engineering and development teams on secure system design.
  • Stay abreast of emerging cyber security threats and furnish recommendations for proactive security measures.
  • Foster a unified cyber security approach across Bayer and lead cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Maintain security control sets, Standards, and Architecture Patterns specific to the Industrial & OT domain.
  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity architecture, risk management, and secure network/system design.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, IT infrastructure, and network architecture.
  • Proven expertise in conducting risk assessments and developing strategic mitigation plans.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to articulate cybersecurity policies and risks.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills to address complex cyber security challenges effectively.
  • Familiarity with relevant cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including the CIISecSkills Framework.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or certifications recognized by the NCSC.
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP or SANS GIAC Security Architect (GDSA).
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with previous experience in a security engineering role.
