About The Position

QBE is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer in support of the U.S. Navy’s PEO IWS-X initiative, to evaluate and implement cybersecurity requirements for IL2, IL5, and IL6 environments and ensures compliance with applicable frameworks while protecting cyber terrain from advanced threats. This role ensures all cybersecurity framework requirements are satisfied and requires documented and demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, threat defense, and high-security environments. The role emphasizes hardware/software security, reverse engineering, and program protection across the system development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, liberal arts, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • A certification such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ required.
  • Must have the applicable 8570 / 8140 requirements including certification IAM Level III.
  • Must be able to commute to the Dahlgren, VA area on a daily basis.
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in advanced threat defense.
  • Experience with IL2, IL5, and IL6 environments.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a logical approach to cybersecurity challenges.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks and threat defense.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Active US Government clearance at Secret level or higher
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to commute to the designated onsite work location as required

Nice To Haves

  • Background in systems engineering or software development is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Review and apply cybersecurity requirements for IL2, IL5, and IL6 systems.
  • Develop defensive strategies to counter advanced persistent threats.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity measures align with program goals.
  • Provide technical leadership for cybersecurity initiatives and risk mitigation.
  • design, implement, and test security systems that protect Critical Program Information (CPI).
