About The Position

The Senior Cyber Engineer - Air Combat Training position is focused on developing state-of-the-art products for cryptographic, datalink, networking, and command and control applications within the Air Combat Test & Training (ACTT) Engineering Department. This role is crucial for ensuring that U.S. military pilots receive effective and realistic training to prepare for current and future threats. The position involves guiding products from concept through accreditation to production, including design, analysis, testing, and certification, all integrated into the Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Training Environment. The Cybersecurity and Training Missions Engineering Team is looking for a candidate to provide technical excellence in a rapidly growing market, addressing system of systems requirements, design, verification, accreditation, and sustainment efforts. The role requires collaboration across multiple agile teams and direct interaction with customers and end-users.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across multiple agile teams as part of a customer-facing systems team.
  • Lead and coordinate security portions of technical proposals with input from technical and cyber leads.
  • Provide input on cybersecurity practices within the department.
  • Apply cost and schedule management methods to project activities and bids.
  • Participate in the advancement of a product Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system.
  • Foster organizational adoption of Secure System Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
