About The Position

Seeking an experienced professional to manage complex cyber, technology, and data breach claims. This role involves handling high-exposure losses, conducting coverage analysis, and collaborating with insureds, brokers, counsel, and internal stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of claims handling experience, with significant focus on cyber, technology E&O, or professional liability claims
• Prior experience with an insurance carrier or reinsurer strongly preferred
• Advanced understanding of cyber insurance policies, coverage issues, and loss scenarios
• Proven ability to handle high-dollar and complex claims
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment within authority levels
• Juris Doctor or relevant cyber/privacy certifications (CIPP, CISSP, etc.) a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex and high-severity cyber claims from initial notice through resolution
• Analyze policy coverage, exclusions, endorsements, and applicable reinsurance provisions
• Investigate and evaluate losses involving data breaches, ransomware, business interruption, privacy liability, and regulatory actions
• Coordinate with insureds, brokers, breach response vendors, forensic firms, and outside counsel
• Set and manage reserves in accordance with company guidelines and authority
• Draft detailed coverage positions, reservation of rights letters, and claim summaries
• Participate in mediations, negotiations, and settlement discussions
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and best practices
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior examiners, as applicable
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and legal teams on emerging cyber trends and loss drivers
