About The Position

Join a nationally recognized surgical services team in Overland Park, Kansas as a Senior Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist . This Tier 3 position represents the highest level of surgical technologist expertise reserved for professionals who excel in complex cardiovascular, endovascular, and hybrid procedures. You will serve as a procedural specialist and mentor to other technologists, working alongside renowned cardiac surgeons in a high-acuity environment where precision, collaboration, and patient safety come first.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) through NCCT
  • At least one year of dedicated CVOR and open-heart surgical experience
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of facility

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of experience in cardiovascular or endovascular operating room environments
  • Proven leadership experience or mentorship background
  • Advanced CV certification or hybrid OR experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead or assist in highly specialized open-heart, vascular, and hybrid OR procedures.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure proper instrumentation for all stages of the operation.
  • Maintain strict sterile field protocols and equipment readiness throughout procedures.
  • Support and train junior technologists and scrub staff in advanced surgical techniques.
  • Collaborate with surgical nurses, anesthesia, and physicians to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and maintain surgical inventory, ensuring appropriate levels of sterile supplies and instruments.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and operational efficiency goals.
  • Participate in required on-call rotation; response time within 30 minutes required.
