About The Position

As a Senior Customer Executive I, you will oversee the Grocery Product (GP) Portfolio at Wakefern. This role involves crafting, implementing, and executing strategic sales and distribution plans for Wakefern’s center store brands. You will play a pivotal role in mentoring Early Careers team members, as well as providing guidance to the PLANTERS Territory Manager. This offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Wakefern’s GP Portfolio while contributing to the growth and success of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1.5 years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to identify and apply business analytics.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a variety of complex projects.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence others to execution.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with the Customer Business Manager and Sales Strategy team to create and execute annual sales plans that align with operational objectives. Engage in regular discussions with Wakefern to devise mutually beneficial strategies for achieving profitable sales.
  • Account Management: Identify and assess trends and opportunities affecting net sales, market share, trade effectiveness, and overall profitability. Communicate insights and strategic recommendations to the Customer Business Manager.
  • Operational Alignment: Ensure that distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing (DSMP) objectives are effectively met. Analyze data from the category analytics team and sales team to drive actionable insights for Hormel brands.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to Early Careers team members, and the PLANTERS Territory Manager, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
  • In-Person Meetings: Be prepared to meet with Wakefern at their Edison, NJ office 1-2 days per week depending on customer needs.
  • Customer Partnerships: Continue to maintain and develop new partnerships with the Wakefern Category teams, Directors, and cross-functional teams.
