Senior Custodian First Shift Attleboro High School QUALIFICATIONS: Certificate from physician indicating that you are in good health and are physically capable of performing the duties of a Senior Custodian. Commitment to assist the Principal in attaining State of Massachusetts and building goals and objectives for students and facilities. An ability to communicate effectively and efficiently. REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Facilities Director SUPERVISES: Junior custodians & contracted custodians PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for learning to take place.

Requirements

Certificate from physician indicating that you are in good health and are physically capable of performing the duties of a Senior Custodian.
Commitment to assist the Principal in attaining State of Massachusetts and building goals and objectives for students and facilities.
An ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Opens the building daily at 6 am
Carries out the orders of the Building Principal and Facilities Director in the building that you are stationed in.
Cleans all areas, including windows, floors and outside areas immediate to the building, on a daily basis using the proper cleaners and equipment.
Repair minor damage to the physical plant and equipment using the proper tools.
Maintains all equipment used in the care of the building.
Operates and provides routine maintenance to the building HVAC systems.
Requisitions necessary custodial supplies and equipment.
Evaluates the use of building by outside groups and reports any abuse or damage to the physical plant or equipment.
Inspects the fire alarm system and fire extinguishers on a regular basis, reporting any problems to the Facilities Director.
Assures that areas where students and/or staff have accidents are completely cleaned and sanitized.
Remove snow and ice from all entrances and exits to the buildings; all stairs, walks, fire hydrants and all other areas on the school grounds where the presence of snow or ice would pose a safety hazard.
Apply sand/chemicals where needed to make sure all walks, stairs, exits and entrances my be safely used.
Assures that minor plumbing repairs are immediately addressed such as plugged drains or toilets.
Assists in distributing supplies and materials received by the school.
Assures that all trash containers are emptied daily.
Assures that the cafeteria is cleaned after each lunch period.
Reports the need for any major maintenance to the Facilities Director.
Carries out all other reasonable requests and directions made by the Facilities Director and/or Principal and strives to promote the safety, health and comfort of all students and staff.
