Position Overview The Sr. Culinary Operations Specialist supports the day-to-day configuration and accuracy of the Agilysys POS system to ensure reliable front-of-house execution of menus, rewards, and transactions across the culinary program. This role partners closely with culinary leadership, site teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate culinary, operational, and brand requirements into accurate system updates that help deliver a consistent experience for approximately 2,500 employees. The Sr. Culinary Operations Specialist leads POS-related workstreams, troubleshoots routine system and operational issues, and implements updates within defined guidelines. This role escalates more complex issues as needed and contributes to improving processes and system reliability under the direction of senior team members. Location: This position is full onsite, Madison based, splitting time between our 1 Exact Lane and 5505 Endeavor Lane locations. Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to essential duties; or Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience in culinary operations, food service operations, POS system management, or related operational roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in POS systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving as a primary POS system owner in a multi-site food service or corporate dining environment.
  • Experience supporting rewards programs, gift card programs, and refund workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams and provide functional guidance without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to design solutions where precedent may not exist.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary owner of the Agilysys POS and Nutrislice systems, ensuring menu, pricing, and rewards information is accurately reflected.
  • Process updates to POS menus, pricing, rewards programs, gift cards, refunds, and related system functionality in alignment with established guidelines and direction from culinary leadership.
  • Coordinate POS-related communication with culinary teams and site leadership to ensure clarity and consistent front-of-house execution.
  • Partner daily with Site Chefs and Sous Chefs to ensure menu adherence, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Manage for POS system updates, signage, and brand adherence within established guidelines.
  • Identify routine system and operational issues, troubleshoot within defined parameters, and escalate complex on nonstandard challenges to senior team members or vendors.
  • Assist with cross-functional workstreams related to POS operations, contributing to planning, documentation, and implementation of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of menu displays, nutritional information, pricing, and guest-facing systems, addressing corrections as needed.
  • Support monthly operational and financial reporting related to POS sales and performance.
  • Track and maintain performance metrics and operational KPIs.
  • Provide data, insights, and reporting support to senior culinary leadership to inform operational decision-making.
  • Handle confidential and business-critical information appropriately.

  • Ability and means to travel up to 50% between Madison-based Exact Sciences locations. May include overnight/weekend travel.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
  • Ability to work seated for approximately 75% of a typical working day and standing for approximately 25% of a typical working day.
