Capital One is seeking a Senior Cryptographic PKI Lead to help deliver game-changing cybersecurity solutions based on threat, data, and design thinking. As a Senior Cryptographic PKI Lead supporting the Data Protection Service Area, you will be accountable for contributing to and delivering upon the strategic agenda for Cryptographic Services to drive meaningful progress for our customers and our business. In this capacity, you will drive product vision into our development teams, translate vision into delivery objectives, provide customer-informed guidance to shape products, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver well-managed and sustainable features that bring that vision to life. You will use your deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in cybersecurity and systems engineering to drive impactful improvements to our cyber capabilities.

  • Develop and guide the strategy, vision, and roadmap for Enterprise Cryptographic services and solutions, which includes Encryption, and Key & Certificate Management, in partnership with Product partners, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze threat, risk, and viability of cryptographic implementations across the tech stack - disk, volume, storage, databases, app-level, file-level, field-level, and portable devices.
  • Analyze threat, risk, and viability of various Cryptographic implementations across key IaaS, and SaaS providers engaged by CapitalOne.
  • Explore effectiveness and value of new Encryption, Key & Certificate Management technologies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to shape the Cryptographic Standards, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Communicate the delivery roadmap to our technology teams.
  • Leverage technical knowledge and skills on how systems work and how code is built to effectively support engineering teams in delivering value.
  • Facilitate build vs. buy decisions to identify optimal strategies for addressing business and technology risks.
  • Maintain close ties to various stakeholders, developers, and engineers across the company, ensuring the services we create meet their needs as products evolve.
  • Continuously engage with customers to seek and apply feedback.
  • Advise executive decision makers based on business and technology risk grounded in threat.
  • Maintain technical and risk credibility with your own team and with engineering partners across the enterprise.
  • Iterate quickly and see the products through to production and scale.
  • People leader of software engineers and managers to maintain a portfolio of diverse cryptography projects to exhibit solutions that meet Cyber's regulatory needs.
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.
  • Collaborate with leadership to deliver on high level initiatives and make key decisions on our strategy and roadmaps.
  • Engage with other senior product managers across teams (encrypted payments, mobile, message encryption, and cloud security) to deliver comprehensive solutions with cryptography security features.
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead talent to be their best.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Cybersecurity.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Cryptographic Services such as Encryption, Key Management, and Certificate Management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT Delivery projects.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an Agile environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in Cryptographic Services such as Encryption, Key Management, and Certificate Management.
  • 2+ years of experience in public cloud security and multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience in regulated financial services organizations.
  • AWS Security, CISSP, GIAC, CISM, CCSP, CISA, or CRISC Certification.
