About The Position

The NC State University Facilities Division is home to nearly 900 professionals who plan, build, and maintain the spaces that foster an environment where innovation, learning, and community thrive. Through this work, we help create spaces that empower students, faculty, and staff to reach their full potential. Operating year-round, we manage more than 16.7 million gross square feet of built space and oversee 4,733 acres of campus infrastructure through a series of core departments, each composed of multiple specialized units: Design & Construction, Business Operations, Campus Operations and Maintenance, Campus Planning and Strategic Investment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Valid NCDL within 60 days of hire, must be maintained.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing spreadsheets for tracking completed spaces and managing supply orders
  • Experience within an institutional or commercial cleaning environment
  • Preferred training includes MarketPlace (Supply Ordering/Req. Mgmt.), inventory management & control, budgeting, Wolf Report, timesheet management, SOP development, data security, phone etiquette, and intermediate proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets, MS Word/Google Docs, and MS PowerPoint/Google Slides.

Responsibilities

  • Keep daily operations moving by coordinating projects and ensuring everything gets done on time and to the highest standard
  • Lead your team with clear direction-assigning work orders in AiM, tracking progress, and making sure updates are accurate and timely
  • Regularly walk the buildings you're responsible for-spotting issues, reporting conditions, and keeping leadership in the loop
  • Be a mentor-train your team on safe work practices, support them during inclement weather responses, and guide special project execution
  • Take the lead in building emergencies-ensuring safety protocols are followed and the team responds with confidence
  • Manage supplies and equipment-using AiM and MarketPlace to keep everything stocked, organized, and accounted for
  • Coordinate transportation for staff and materials, and step in with smart reassignments to keep operations covered
  • Report equipment issues, manage key control, and make sure departmental procedures (SOPs) are followed
  • Host safety briefings, assign project teams, and keep everyone focused on departmental goals
  • Handle injury reports and ensure anyone who needs medical attention gets it quickly, with proper documentation
  • Assist with team scheduling and job assignments to meet shifting needs across campus
