This role is required to be on-site and will be located in Loveland, Colorado or Deerfield, IL. This role will be posted from 9/23/2025 - 10/232025. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Credit, the Senior Credit Risk Portfolio Manager will be responsible for leading and evolving the credit risk portfolio analysis capabilities & associated profitability of Nutrien's receivables portfolios, including Nutrien's trade receivables and our captive financing company's (Nutrien Financial) agricultural lending portfolio. This role ensures that risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and mitigated across the portfolio. The portfolio manager works closely with credit staff, the Nutrien business, and risk committees to maintain portfolio quality and align lending activities within Nutrien's credit risk appetite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Agribusiness, Finance, or a related field (MBA or Master's considered an asset).
  • 5+ years of experience in lending, credit risk, or portfolio management.
  • Deep understanding of credit, finance, and commodity markets.
  • Familiarity with regional ag economies and commodity-specific risks (e.g., corn, soy, cattle, dairy).
  • Proficiency in credit risk modeling, financial analysis, and lending structures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work collaboratively across different business units.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, and risk systems tailored for ag lending (e.g., FinPack, Moody's, or Tableau).
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large data sets effectively.
  • Ability to balance credit prudence with business development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor credit performance and trends across global portfolios.
  • Manage enterprise risk tolerances and key performance indicators.
  • Develop frameworks to identify portfolio concentrations, geographic exposures, and commodity-specific vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and risk reports for senior leadership.
  • Utilize internal and external market intelligence to provide expert guidance on credit risk assessments for the portfolio.
  • Review loan structures, collateral, and financials of customers.
  • Evaluate sector-specific risks such as weather, commodity prices, and policy/regulatory exposure.
  • Analyze borrower and portfolio trends using agricultural specific data (e.g., crop yields, futures pricing, drought indices).
  • Produce risk reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to internal modeling and risk rating improvements that reflect the agricultural lending environment.
  • Advise on risk-adjusted pricing models incorporating sectoral risk insights.
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis on portfolio exposures.
  • Support the development of risk appetite statements and loan grading systems.
