The Senior Credit Risk Manager will partner with the Strategic Partner Management group at FEB to manage the review, effective challenge and approval of credit strategy changes through the Bank's program change request process. The Senior Credit Risk Manager will regularly interact with multiple internal departments including Strategic Partner Management (SPM), Compliance (CO/CM), Legal, Model Risk Management (MRM) to ensure effective oversight of the Strategic Partner credit program, and changes being proposed prior to approval, within each program. The Senior Credit Risk Manager will also manage a team of credit risk professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure effective execution of responsibilities. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across multiple internal and external stakeholders to maintain robust credit governance and risk management practices.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, risk management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in lending or financial services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and credit underwriting analysis experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of credit origination strategies and risk management principles.
  • Ability to communicate complex credit strategies clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working on cross-functional and collaborative projects.
  • Knowledge of credit standards or rules for consumer or small-to-medium business lending.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet time-sensitive deadlines, and deliver high-quality work for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with a focus on documentation and audit readiness.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of driving continuous improvement in credit risk processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or Python preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of credit risk analysts, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the Strategic Partner Credit Change Request process, Decision Testing and associated record tracking.
  • Provide strategic direction and ensure timely review and effective challenge of credit strategy changes through the Bank's program change request process.
  • Participate in due diligence initiatives for new products launched in partnership with Strategic Partners, with a particular emphasis on enabling the development of credit programs and the origination of financial receivables.
  • Develop independent analysis to validate partner program policy changes and create summary reports for presentation to the Credit and Risk Committee.
  • Monitor policy gaps and collaborate with Strategic Partner teams to improve policy adherence.
  • Ensure reporting provided by Strategic Partners meets standards for internal governance and committee review.
  • Develop and enhance credit risk governance processes to support Strategic Partner oversight and internal credit activities.
  • Represent Credit Administration in internal and external audits and regulatory exams.
  • Actively participate in Credit Committee meetings and provide leadership-level insights.
