About The Position

The Senior Credit Analyst at GM Financial (AmeriCredit) is responsible for evaluating credit applications to assess risk and make informed credit decisions within established guidelines. This role focuses on building strong dealer relationships, ensuring credit quality, and driving profitable contract acquisitions in alignment with company objectives.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of consumer finance, indirect auto lending, and retail installment documentation.
Familiarity with State and Federal regulations, credit laws, and GM Financial's credit policies.
Proven credit underwriting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
Effective communication and presentation skills with a professional demeanor.
Sales and negotiation skills to build and maintain dealer relationships.
Commitment to continuous business improvement and strategic thinking.
Strong work ethic and customer relationship management capabilities.
2-3 years of underwriting/sales in the automotive industry preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

Analyze credit data to determine risk and make approval or denial decisions within authorized limits and regulatory compliance.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with automotive dealers to support volume and credit quality goals.
Capture finance contracts that meet profitability standards for pricing and performance.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient branch operations and service delivery.
Conduct outbound telemarketing and joint dealer calls with Dealer Relationship Managers as needed.
Monitor and manage dealer performance by setting and tracking monthly goals and ensuring proper deal documentation.
